Second Sino-Japanese War

The Second Sino-Japanese War was a war between China and Japan that eventually, helped contribute to WWII. Before the war started, Japan was very interested in making areas in China Japanese colonies, for they desired to gain more natural resources for their own country and during this time, China was in the middle of a civil war with Communists, war lords and Kuomintang's government, it seemed to be a great opportunity for Japan to invade. Before the invasion, Japan was already at an advantage since Japan became more modernized and advanced, especially in weaponry. First, the Japanese decided to invade Manchuria by framing the local Chinese garrison for the cause of an explosion on a section of railroad tracks that was actually created by the Japanese. They then sneaked into the area and eventually took over the place, for the government refused to fight. This caused the start of Japan's invasions for more of China's land, for as time passed, Japan eventually gained power over regions like Shanghai and Nanking. However, Japan was not the only one who had advantages, for before WWII broke out, China was supported by many countries including Germany, Russia, U.S.A., Britain, etc. these allies helped china in certain ways, for counties like Britain, U.S., and Netherlands all helped create oil and steel embargos on Japan as a way to limit Japans resources. This caused Japan to come into conflict with these foreign allies, especially with the U.S. since eighty percent of Japan oil came from the U.S. However, instead of Japan coming to an agreement with China, they still continued to try and gain resources, but tried to reach an agreement with the U.S. After President Franklin Roosevelt only agreed to the idea of Japan backing off of China, Japan had to think of a new plan. Eventually, the decision came to attack America and on December 7th, 1941, pearl harbor was attacked by the Japanese and eventually brought The United States into WWII, thus showing how the Second Sino-Japanese war led to many negative results, especially with the U.S.
