Reza Khan
Reza Khan was born in a small village called Alasht. He had a very difficult
childhood and his father died soon after his birth.
In 1911 he was serving under the orders of the prime minister. He fought in many battles in an attempt to keep Mohammed Ali from regaining the power of the throne. He quickly got promoted to First Lieutenant and soon after to Captain after the viewing of his skills with the machine gun.
His military career was
booming. He had been renowned as a brave and fearless soldier and what's chosen as a successor to most senior commanders.After many events in personal life Reza Kahn became a war minister. He began to discuss the removal of Russian troops from Iranian territory.
In 1923 he became prime minister of the new regime and wanted to evacuate the British troops that had been steeled in
Iran since WWI.After Reza had gotten rid of Ahmad Mirza, the last member of the Qajar Dynasty, he was named shah of Iran. He changed his name to Reza Shah Pahlevi to signify the beginning of the Pahlevi dynasty.
Reza Shah had many great reforms including the reorganization of the army, finances, and government. He even got rid of all special rights for all foreign people making Iran a truly independent nation.During his rule there were great advancements in education, and industrialization. Universities were set up and railroads were built. In a short time they had achieved so much. Reza Shah however died in exile after being forced to abdicate the throne for his son in 1944.
