Emperor Hirohito
Emperor Hirohito was known as one of the most mysterious, fascinating figures of the 20th century. When he was only fifteen, he assumed the throne as a result of the death of his father. Hirohito was fascinated with everything the western world had to offer, such as their food, clothes and lifestyles. When he visited the United States, he even bought a Mickey Mouse watch and wore it for years! While Hirohito was on the throne, his troops went out of his control and began to take over China. He was powerless and could not stop them. This would be hard for any emperor, but especially if you were Hirohito, who was supposedly a very quiet, loving, peaceful man. He was completely against war, so to know your military whom you are supposed to be controlling if off bombing and massacring another country and they're out of you're control must be terrible. After the war was finally over, Hirohito began to rebuild Japan into a society similar to the United States. He made many reforms to put his people back on track, and Japan ended up turning into one of the richest countries in the world at the time.
